Although I have had trouble understanding the library applications of some of the Web 2.0 tools that we have been exposed to in TLC 2.0, I think the idea of using video hosting sites to market and show library programs is great.
I found that You Tube is very easy to use. It is even easy to embed videos in one's blog. I chose two Broward County Library videos to embed in this blog. The first is a marketing tool for an upcoming program, and the second is a video of a program that has already taken place at the library.
I selected Steve Vinik's video of the upcoming Anime Convention that will be held at the Main Library on January 5th to embed in this blog because I think that You Tube is an excellent way to advertise library programs, especially those that appeal to young people.
I also selected Steve Vinik's video of the presentation of the Moon Rock to the Broward County Main Library because I attended the event at the library. (We were all very excited to work at the first library in the country to receive a moon rock!) Using the web to share videos of library programs is an excellent way for customers who are unable to attend programs to see what they missed.
